The Joy of Jesus

Dear Friend,

When I was very first born again, I experienced a joy that was hard to describe. I felt like my heart was going to explode with happiness. To think someone like Jesus would die for me, forgive me, and embrace me was so hard for me to wrap my mind around. I drove everyone crazy. I couldn’t quit talking about it to people at work, to family, and to complete strangers. Amen. My cup was full and overflowing with His love.

The Lord showed up in so many ways back then that I know now were miracles. I thought it was normal for all Christians to experience that. However, I eventually found out that even though the Bible says we can all experience the miraculous, unbelief kills a lot of it.

I remember taking authority over a devil once, knowing it had to leave. I was excited over it. But, sometimes, we can lose sight of what is the most important thing.

Jesus reminded His disciples in Luke 10:19,20:

Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

Amen. And Psalm 51:12,13 says:

Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.

Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.

Satan has tried forever to get us to lose our confidence, our peace, and our joy in God, and especially our love for God. He knows that if he can, he can hinder our faith in God. Love is a force that Satan cannot relate to, because there is no love in him. Amen. First John 3:18-21 says:

My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.

For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.

Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence

toward God.

Amen. We can’t let go of the love God has for us. He never changes. He will always love us. Amen.

We need to let the love of God rule and reign over our heart, reminding ourselves daily of what Jesus said in John 14:27: Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

We have and serve an amazing God. I know we all want to walk in His power, but that starts by walking in His love. Amen.

In His love,
