Resolutions

Dear Friend,

In my home, we are entering into 2024 with some great resolutions—spend more time with God, lose weight, etc. I’m smiling. However, this really is what I am purposing in my heart to do. Jesus paid a great price for me, and I want to walk in the freedom He has given me.

I’ve noticed how the devil is constantly hammering at us in the areas we’ve been hurt in. For example, I was told growing up that I was “not good enough for anything” and “why even try?” After all, “I was too dumb.”

I know Satan has lied to all of us, which is why most everyone I know needs to be healed from hurts of the past. Nevertheless, Jesus has redeemed us. Amen. Colossians 2:14,15 says:

Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

I love that our names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. Yet, Satan is constantly looking for an opening to bring his lies and destruction into our life just like First Peter 5:8 states: Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour. Most of the time, his assault starts with an attack of the mind. However, the good news is: Jesus defeated Satan, and we can walk in that victory! That’s why Luke 10:18,19 are a couple of my favorite verses:

And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.

Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

I think it’s wonderful that Jesus made all of these provisions for us, however we help Him bring our healings to pass when we fellowship with Him—spending time in prayer and developing a good relationship with Him. Amen. Jesus came to set us free.

Isaiah 53:5 says of Jesus: But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. Amen. My New Year’s resolution is to let go of the past and to stop letting it hinder my future. I told the Lord that by an act of my faith, I forgive all those who have hurt me. And I will confess this until it becomes a reality. I pray that we all receive the work Jesus did for us on the Cross:

He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.

He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.

Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.

The Lord lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.

Psalm 147:3-6

Praise God!! He loves us, and He always will. And I love you too. I pray you have a wonderful and happy New Year!

In His love,

Donner Roberson
