Prayer Changes Things

Dear Friend,

I have determined in my heart not to let the devil discourage me. Jesus has the big picture. He knows the beginning from the end. Amen.

Even though I know how very human we can be, I was upset a little when a person was rude to me in front of my son Levi. Levi could see that the encounter bothered me, so I took that moment to share with him how we needed to pray for that individual instead of getting angry and wishing for their hurt—rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth (Proverbs 24:17).

I explained to Levi how that person might have issues we don’t know about, so we prayed together, and when we went back, that person was as nice as could be. I was very happy that Levi could see such a dramatic change in the person. Amen. I want him to know and understand how merciful our Lord is. Jesus understands that we have emotions, but His Word is what is always true.

I love what Psalm 51:10-13 says:

Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.

Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.

Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.

It’s with us having this spirit that I truly believe other people will be moved to change by the love they see in us, even when they’re not being kind and are sometimes downright mean.

I am so grateful to our Lord Jesus that He redeemed me from the old eye-for-an-eye kind of person I was many years ago. God is good, He is faithful, and His love is everlasting! Amen.

I do have an exciting report to share: Levi is praying in tongues!! Glory to God!! I’m smiling. I am blessed to have this amazing ten-year-old boy for my son. I made a little list of things I’m thankful for: (1) I have been blessed with children who love me; (2) and grandchildren who love me; (3) I also have great-grandsons who love me and like it when I pray for them; (4) I love my church family, and that includes all the ones living out-of-state. We really are one big family adopted by God the Father. Amen.

Jesus said in John 14:13-15:

And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

If ye love me, keep my commandments.

Glory to God!! Have a very blessed Thanksgiving Day holiday. Enjoy your natural and church family. Please continue praying for our country and our leaders, remembering what Jesus said in John 14:27: Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

In His love,

Donner Roberson
