Thankful for a God Who Loves Us

Dear Friend,

It’s hard to believe this year is almost over. Thanksgiving Day is just around the corner, and I love my family gathering together to enjoy the Thanksgiving feast. There is so much food set out before us that it’s hard to decide what all we want to eat.

I have noticed this in the Body of Christ as well. There are so many doctrines out there that if a person doesn’t like a message on sin, he can just run over to the “sloppy grace” church. I grant you, I don’t agree with a lot of things going on in the Body currently. I personally can’t stand the “money message” or teachings on how healing isn’t for today. However, I pray that truth prevails. Jesus is the truth—I’m pretty sure we can all agree on that. Amen!

Wouldn’t it be awesome if we could all sit at a big table and eat of the goodness and mercy of God? Well, we can. Hallelujah! The truth will make us free just as John 8:31,32,36 says:

 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

It would help if we, as the Body of Christ, prayed that truth prevails and started walking and talking like Jesus. The constant bickering among Christians isn’t solving anything.

Years ago, a lady from another state wanted to argue doctrine with me. I said, “How can I argue when Jesus is always right?” The lady did agree with that.

I am forever grateful that we have a God who loves us so much that He gave His Son so we can live for an eternity with Him. Jesus died for all of us. I do not take that lightly. He has taught me to take the beam out of my eye before trying to remove the splinter from my brother’s eye. I am blessed to call Jesus Lord.

We all have mountains to overcome and rely on God’s grace and love to endure, which is why Jesus says in John 13:34: A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

Be thankful for what you have. You have a God who loves you so much, He died for you.

I want to encourage you to pray and then pray some more—that we have God’s peace, His wisdom, and that our discernment in the days coming gets even sharper. Please continue to pray for the lost, and pray that deception is destroyed over all of our lives.

This Thanksgiving, let’s all feast on the Word of God. I want you all to have a blessed, wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. Enjoy your family and friends, and invite someone who doesn’t have loved ones nearby to enjoy the love of God with you.

In His love,

Donner Roberson
