Good Soldier

Dear Friend,

There have been so many things happening, and all the changes for our country haven’t been necessarily good, especially for our soldiers. My heart goes out to our veterans and all of our armed forces.

Our freedom came with a great price, and for this, I am forever grateful. So many of our soldiers didn’t get to come back when they left their families and their homes to serve this great nation.

We as soldiers for Jesus Christ need to understand that freedom comes with a price. Second Timothy 2:3,4 says:

Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

I am so grateful for both types of soldiers: Christians and the armed forces. These brave men and women have fought and died so we would have the freedom to worship and serve Jesus. I think it’s so important to keep praying for our leaders. Amen. I pray that Jesus can touch their hearts before it’s too late.

I realize sometimes we get weary. That’s why it’s good to encourage one another. Galatians 6:9 says: And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. The battle on every front is big, but it’s not bigger or greater than our God. Hallelujah! Even with what the Apostle Paul went through for Christ’s sake, his response to it all was amazing:

At my first answer no man stood with me, but all men forsook me: I pray God that it may not be laid to their charge. (The next two verses really show God’s faithfulness.)

Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

2 Timothy 4:16-18

It’s more important than ever to stand for the truth. Jesus is the Truth. Amen.

To all the veterans—thank you! I am grateful for all you’ve done. The Lord loves you.

Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

Psalm 91:14-16

Thanksgiving Day is my favorite holiday—a time when family and friends gather together. It’s also a good time to tell Jesus “thank You” for giving us eternal life. Amen.

In His love,
