Don’t Be Bitter

Dear Friend,

My heart goes out to all the people who have lost loved ones. Through the pain, there is a peace when the person is born again and you know you’ll see them again in Heaven. The times that we’re living in are quite turbulent, yet we can still have that peace knowing we have Jesus.

I’m sure these current times are confusing to a person who’s not saved because they don’t know what to believe in a world that’s calling good evil and evil good. Isaiah 5:20,21 says:

Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!

I don’t think it helps to win souls to Christ when Christians are full of venom toward people they don’t agree with. It’s hard to wrap our natural mind around the fact that God loves all people whether they are good or bad. Yet our Father wants us to have mercy on people just as we all need mercy. He hasn’t forgotten us, and He never will. When I stand before Him, I want to hear, “Job well done,” not the words, “Depart from Me, you worker of iniquity.”

Psalm 86:5 says: For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee. I’m just saying, instead of condemning people with our mouths whom we think are evil, wouldn’t it be better to pray for them to come to the Lord and be saved, delivered, and set free?

Psalm 86:11 says: Teach me thy way, O Lord; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name. Wouldn’t it be better to reverence our Father, knowing that He deserves the honor and praise? Jesus made this all possible for us. More than ever, I want to be more like our Jesus. He is so full of love. We can overcome all circumstances if we keep our mind and heart on Him—Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid (John 14:27).

It’s not always easy to let God’s love rule in our heart, especially when we see our loved ones hurting. However, Satan is the villain. So get angry at him and not at the person causing the pain.

Luke 10:19 says: Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. I want to rekindle the fire for Jesus. The Holy Spirit is more than willing to comfort, teach, and guide us.

Please continue praying for this great nation, our leaders, and for the lost. We can’t agree with sin. James 4:4 states that whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. We can’t hate the people who do wrong; we are to hate the sin. Please also pray for the babies and for no more shedding of innocent blood in Jesus’ Name. May God bless you and keep you safe. Amen.

In His love,
