What’s Your Opinion?

Dear Friend,

Have you ever asked someone their opinion on something and they just can’t seem to give you a straight answer? They want to be correct so they search for a way to say something that they’re not sure whether or not it will offend you.

I’m smiling because I’ve always been pretty direct, but I do try to say what I have to say without hurting someone—unless it has to do with the devil. I’ve noticed how when some Christians are with non-believers, they will cuss like them, have drinks with them, and then wonder why there is no power in their prayer life.

First Kings 18:21 says: And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word. Isn’t it interesting how people respond when a true man of God speaks? I know a lot of people that say they want a true prophet to come, or there are some people calling themselves prophets. Sadly, most of these people would be hiding from the prophet if he came. They are caught between two opinions.

We’re at a place now where we need to be bold for Jesus and never be ashamed of the One who loved us enough to die for us. I wish that every person could get a glimpse of hell—it would change their opinion in a hurry.

I know it’s not always easy. People want to fit in or belong to a group, especially young people. I’m so proud of our young people. They’re pretty bold about loving God. Amen.

James 1:8 says: A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. Later in the epistle, James says: Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded (James 4:8). Father, we thank You for giving us Your Son and the Holy Spirit to teach us daily how to please our Lord Jesus who died for us.

I like what the Apostle Paul says in Philippians 2:1-5:

If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,

Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

Glory!! Praise You, Jesus!!

My prayer is that we can accomplish everything God has called us to be.

In His love,

Donner Roberson
