God Is Faithful

Dear Friend,

In my last letter, I wrote about how we can devastate the devil by speaking God’s Word in spite of the battles and trials we face. Today, I want to encourage you in God’s faithfulness.

God was faithful in the Old Testament as well as the New Testament, and it is people’s faith in God that moves Him.

In my early years as a Christian, faith was hard for me to understand because I thought God was moved by needs. However, now it’s amazing to me what a big difference it makes in my life when I just trust what He says.

When you’re facing difficult things, I know it’s not always easy because your mind tries to run to the negative—but you can’t let it. You have to trust in the Lord—hold your peace—just as Moses encouraged Israel in Exodus 14:13,14:

And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.

The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

In every situation, every battle that we’re caught up in, we need to yield to what the Word has to say about it.

I know that most everyone knows this, but if we would stop to listen to ourselves sometimes, we’d hear things coming out of our mouths like, “I did this, but . . .” or “What if . . .” or “Well, maybe it’s God’s will that they’re sick—you know, in order to teach them something.” Doubt and thinking that God would ever inflict a person with illness is contrary to what Jesus died for.

Now, we can open the door for demonic attacks by staying in strife and by not dealing with the things that the Lord has dealt with us to change. Paul tells us clearly in Romans 12:18,19 to do everything we can to be at peace with one another:

If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

Then Paul goes on to tell us how to overcome strife in verses 20 and 21—even though we don’t see this in operation nearly as much as we should:

Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.

Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

I think the greatest day of my life is when I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I am still in awe of the love He displays in my life in spite of my shortcomings.

I don’t endorse false doctrine or sin of any kind, and I don’t believe there is anything “sloppy” about God’s grace, but I do know that when Jesus died for us, He made a way for us to become righteous children of God again. And I believe as long as we’re trying to follow Him, Jesus will cover and protect us.

I want to encourage you to say and believe what God says about you and your circumstances. Let His peace, which passes all understanding, keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Amen.

Satan has had his way too long, so let’s devastate and traumatize the devil and stay positive about the Word of God. It never fails!

In His love,

Donner Roberson
