Respond With God’s Love and Peace

Dear Friend,

Last month I shared about a difficult situation I have been working through with a man I called “Hank.” I did business with him recently, and he failed to uphold the terms of our agreement. I wanted to get angry and show my displeasure with him, but the Lord showed me how to pray for him instead, and almost immediately, I began receiving a better understanding of Hank’s own difficulties.

Well, I want to let you know that things are continuing to progress very well in that situation. I am so grateful to the Lord that the Holy Spirit continues to teach me. I find myself wanting to know more about what pleases my Father.

The enemy sure doesn’t like it when we pursue the things of the Lord, and the more we tell the Lord how much we love Him, the more defeated the devil becomes in our lives.

I remember a few years back when the enemy seemed to be attacking on every side. Psalm 37:1-5 became a great source of comfort to me.

Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.

For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.

Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.

Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

I believe when we do what the Lord says, our obedience causes Satan’s crops to fail in our life. Glory to God. Our Father has made provision for us, and when we trust Him, He brings His Word to pass.

I have made up my mind and have set my face like flint that I will not let the enemy dictate who I am. I know I’m not the only one who has been hurt so bad at times that it feels like we can’t go on, but really, we can. Jesus is our Strength. Amen. Psalm 15 is an amazing example of how we really can be:

Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?

He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.

He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.

In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the Lord. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.

He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.

How we respond to situations and people is what really defines us. And the devil hates it when we choose not to let what he does destroy the love and the peace that God has given us.

Easter will be here soon and we know Jesus has risen! Our Redeemer lives. May our lives become richer with the love our Father gave us when He gave us His Son.

In His love,

Donner Roberson
