Let Go of the Past

Dear Friend,

With everything that’s going on in the world, it tells us how much we need Jesus in our lives. I don’t know why, but I still get shocked and surprised at the way people treat each other. It’s heart wrenching that anyone would believe that God would sanction the hatred that is taking place among the people. Jesus died for everyone, not just a select few. Amen. I believe Satan is having a good laugh right now, but his days are numbered, praise the Lord.

Satan is an equal opportunity destroyer. He has incited riots, he has convinced many people to hate other races, he is dividing families, and he butchers babies. What a résumé of destruction.

I know there have been many injustices to people. My heart breaks for all those who have suffered. However, it doesn’t change the fact that there are good and bad in all races. Jesus died for us all, and we should be praying that people are restored to God, not becoming a victim to the system.

When Jesus died for us, He sat down on the right hand of God. Hebrews 10:13,16,17 says:

From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.

This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;

And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

Now isn’t that something! God doesn’t remember our sins anymore. Glory to God. I truly believe we should learn from history, not destroy it. Please don’t get me wrong. I feel terrible for what happened on the Trail of Tears. I feel terrible for what happened during the Holocaust. I hate how people were bought and sold into slavery. However, we should be learning from it and striving to love one another the way Jesus loves us. I can’t think of one race that hasn’t suffered from some kind of injustice. We can’t change the past, but we can change the future. Praise God. We can make a difference. Amen.

Don’t let Satan rule and reign over your life. Instead, let the Holy Spirit come in and teach and guide you through all of this chaos. Let’s pray for our nation and humble ourselves. If we dig in the past, we will always find something to be upset about. This year has been a battle for lots of people, but Jesus has our backs.

This Fourth of July claim your independence! Don’t let the devil influence you. My prayer is from Acts 26:18: To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

God bless you and have a safe and blessed Fourth of July!

In His love,

Donner Roberson
