Kick the Devil

Dear Friend,

Did you ever wonder how everything can look so beautiful, but the war in the spirit is still raging? I’ve come to the conclusion that Satan never takes a vacation. He just has to be kicked out. It can be a battle to keep our mind on what the Lord has to say regardless of what the devil is doing.

I had a friend pass away in April who fought hard to win the battle against cancer. She was only fifty-six years old. I know at one time or another we’ve all had to kick the devil out of our mind. And the enemy really wants us to indict God over our circumstances. Well, I’m not going to listen to him. I believe with all of my heart that Jesus did everything He could to save my friend from her health battle.

Satan is good at what he does, and he can twist and turn everything to convince us that we’re not worthy enough to receive all of what Jesus did for us on the Cross. However, Jesus knows the struggles we have. He knows what’s in our mind and in our heart. When the disciples were trying to figure out who would be the greatest in Heaven, the Bible says in Luke 9:47,48:

And Jesus, perceiving the thought of their heart, took a child, and set him by him,

And said unto them, Whosoever shall receive this child in my name receiveth me: . . .

Jesus knew what the disciples were thinking. In the same way, He also knows if we’re scared or if we don’t understand everything that happens, which is why we have the Holy Spirit to comfort, teach, and guide us.

Satan does everything he can to convince us that we’re failures. But he is a liar. For whatever reason my friend went home early, I know she still won because she’s with Jesus. She loved Jesus with all of her heart, and I’m thankful that I will see her again. It’s not over. Amen.

The Lord amazes me with His patience, mercy, and love. He brings scriptures to us that see us through. There will always be casualties in a war, but Psalm 91:7 says: A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

The Lord understands and knows how Satan tries us. He warned Peter in Luke 22:31,32:

And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:

But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.

Jesus has never stopped loving us. Psalm 71:1 says: In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion.

It’s important to stay focused on what God has to say. I know the battles can seem endless. Like I said, the devil won’t leave on his own—we have to kick him out. Amen.

I’m believing for more victories. Jesus is greater and more powerful than anything Satan has to offer, glory to God! I’m teaching my son Levi that it’s important to raise children to look to Jesus, not the world for answers. I know so many wonderful, godly parents who are raising their children to know how much Jesus looks after them. I think the Lord is blessed when He sees the impact of grandmothers and mothers—I’m including the spiritual ones as well.

Second Timothy 1:1-7 says:

Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus,

To Timothy, my dearly beloved son: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day;

Greatly desiring to see thee, being mindful of thy tears, that I may be filled with joy;

When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.

Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

God bless you and please know you’re loved, you’re valuable, and you make a difference. Hallelujah!

In His love,

Donner Roberson
