Don’t Worry

Dear Friend,

I was going through a pretty hard time years ago. You know, where you feel attacked on every side. I would sit in a church service and weep so hard that I could barely manage to stay seated. The Lord in all of His love and mercy would start ministering to me. He took me to Psalm 37, a psalm of David:

Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.

For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the

green herb.

Psalm 37:1,2

These verses alone tell us that the Lord has all under control, and He will handle it. All of Satan’s crops will fail, amen!

The next few verses tell us how the Lord helps us in difficult times, and His help is not mean or hateful:

Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.

Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

Psalm 37:3-5

When we keep our eyes on what God has to say instead of what our emotions are dictating to us, we can achieve the results we need and walk in victory.

I can certainly tell you that sometimes it is hard not to be led around by emotions, but verse 8 says: Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil. It’s not always easy to trust in the Lord, but you’ll be glad you placed your confidence in Him.

Jesus loves us, and He loves the people who hurt us. He doesn’t like it when we are in pain, but Jesus still loves the people who cause it.

I remember a time when I was very upset over what a person did to me, and I was being pretty vocal about it to the Lord. I said, “Lord, they are so mean and hurtful.” And He gently whispered, “Like you were before you let Me in.”

I repented for complaining, and thank goodness, God’s love and mercy touched my heart. Jesus has taught me to let go of things that only He can change. Now, I don’t want people punished for what they do to me—I want them restored back to God. Trusting in Him is changing things for the good.

As for “giving me the desires of my heart,” God knows my desire is for all of my family to draw closer to Him. I’m very excited this month because I have the privilege of dedicating my great-grandson Jack Shane West to the Lord. My granddaughter and her husband have been in Italy for four years, and they are coming home before shipping over to Japan. Baby Jack will be two years old this month, and I can’t wait to see him and his big brother S.J.

My son Levi is very happy because S.J. is only six weeks older than him. They were buddies when they were babies.

Family is important, and the family of God means we need to pray for each other so more people will want to be a part of His family. Amen.

James 3:16,17 says:

For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

Rejoice for all of the good and wonderful things Jesus has done for you. Fear not. He will never stop loving you.

Have a blessed Easter! We are so grateful that Jesus has risen.

In His love,

Donner Roberson
