Our Heavenly Father Provides

Dear Friend,

I thought I was the most blessed and happiest woman on the planet when I found my Heavenly Father. I didn’t know my earthly dad, so to discover my Heavenly Father was a real life-changing experience for me. God’s love is far greater than anything I could have imagined.

I love my children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. And even knowing how deeply I love them, I know that God loves them more.

In John 14, Jesus began talking to His disciples about going to the Father’s house to prepare a place for them. Thomas was not sure what Jesus was talking about, so in verses 6 and 7, Jesus made it clear:

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

If you had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

I think the living example of the love of Jesus is something we need to follow. How many people recognize Jesus when they meet us or are drawn to the love we display?

In John 14:9, Jesus told Philip the same thing about the Father that He told Thomas: Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that has seen me has seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?

Jesus loves us and has laid down His life for us. What an example of love that is for us! Farther down in verse 18, Jesus also says: I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

When I adopted Levi, I needed someone who would be willing to be a father to him, someone who would really love him, especially if something happened to me.

Darrin, a young man about my daughter’s age, said he would be a father to Levi. This was agreed on before I went to get Levi. I was amazed at Darrin’s commitment. Darrin lives about two miles from us and has helped from the time Levi came home when he was only a week and a half old. Darrin has changed Levi’s diapers, has fed him, and rocked him when he was sick—he comforted him.

Levi is four years old now, and Papa Darrin is the greatest dad ever. Levi talks about all of the things he and his papa do—especially how they like to fix things

together (I’m smiling)—and they are quite the pair. Darrin’s parents have also embraced Levi, and Levi really loves his grandma and grandpa.

Our Heavenly Father has made provision. Darrin became a father to the fatherless, and He has also become a son to me. I’m a very blessed woman who has a lot to be grateful for.

I know several godly men who are wonderful role models for children to look up to. The father image is so very important, and I would like all of you godly fathers to know you are appreciated. The impact that you make on the life of a child is so important. God bless you all and have a wonderful Father’s Day.

In His love,
