I Love My Father

Dear Friend,

It’s been said that Satan makes it a point to try to destroy the family unit. I know there are a lot of single parents out there struggling to raise their children with some balance. I was for the most part a single parent myself. Yet, God’s original plan was for children to receive guidance from both parents. Thankfully, He has all the grace and answers we need in every situation, and as we turn to Him, He will step into our lives for us and for our children.

Our Father God has such a heart for children. He even tells us to come to Him as a child. Amen. Matthew 18:3,4 says:

Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

I can only imagine the sadness and grief God must feel over the massive amounts of babies who are being completely destroyed in today’s society. What’s more shocking is how proud some people are that they have had an abortion. The value of a human life has been completely diminished. This alone is enough to break your heart, yet if a person repents, our Father can and will forgive them.

One thing I know would help our society is having more mentors in the father department. I’ve been very fortunate because Darrin—a young man at our church—chose to mentor and be a father to my son Levi, making me extra blessed to call them both sons. (I’m smiling.)

I’ve listened to many reports where so many young men ended up in trouble, gangs, prison, and so on, where things could have been better had they had a father figure in their life. You see, Jesus had the image of God the Father that He lived by, which we see in John 8:19: Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.

The light of Jesus needs to shine bright in this dark world. I also believe it pleases our Father when we make a point to pray for the children. Second John 1:4 says: I rejoiced greatly that I found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father.

My prayer is that the Lord can restore the family unit. Even for single parents, our Father God can send a godly mentor for the children to look up to. Amen.

I’ve seen many good, godly fathers. I appreciate every one of them. I am wishing them all a blessed and happy Father’s Day in Jesus’ Name.

In His love,

Donner Roberson
