A Mother’s Love

Dear Friend,

The month of May has always been a month that has a lot of good memories for me. My mom was born in May as well as one of my brothers, my sister, and one of my daughters. My daughter was born so close to Mother’s Day that this year, her birthday falls on it (I’m smiling). I tell her she was my Mother’s Day present.

Being a mom, I think of how Mary, the mother of Jesus, must have felt when she watched her son being crucified, knowing she couldn’t do anything to prevent it. It had to be heart wrenching to see Him suffer like that. Yet John 19:25-27 said:

Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene.

When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son!

Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.

Isn’t it amazing that Jesus made sure His mother would be cared for? The bonds between a mother and her children are very strong. Amen. It breaks my heart when I see any of my children hurting. I would do whatever I could to take away their pain.

In Mark 7:25-30, we see a woman who was not even Jewish coming to Jesus, asking Him to help her daughter:

For a certain woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell at his feet:

The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter.

But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it unto the dogs.

And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children’s crumbs.

And he said unto her, For this saying go thy way; the devil is gone out of thy daughter.

And when she was come to her house, she found the devil gone out, and her daughter laid upon the bed.

Praise God!! I think there are many moms, grandmothers, and spiritual moms who will pursue God until their children are free. Never give up on your babies. Amen.

I find that I am incredibly blessed with my children, my grandchildren, and my great-grandchildren. I can honestly say that Jesus has an answer to every problem we might have. The relationship we build and have with Jesus is everything.

My prayer for every parent who is hurting for their child is that they see them healed, delivered, and set free. Amen. Isaiah 49:25 says: But thus saith the Lord, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children. Amen.

Don’t give up on your children. The Lord can and will reach them. Have a blessed Mother’s Day and enjoy your family.

In His love,

Donner Roberson
