Don’t Worry–Jesus Has Your Back

Dear Friend,

I’m writing this letter before the United States’ presidential election is finished, so I don’t know who the new President is yet. I just want to encourage you to stay strong. Jesus still has our best interest at heart.

Many people are very worried over who may win. Don’t worry! Jesus has our backs. Trust what God can do. Amen. Jeremiah 15:16 says: Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O Lord God of hosts. And then verse 21 says: And I will deliver thee out of the hand of the wicked, and I will redeem thee out of the hand of the terrible.

We can’t let fear control our lives. We need to trust our Lord. Look at Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the Old Testament. It couldn’t get much worse (or hotter) for them than King Nebuchadnezzar’s fiery furnace. Daniel 3:20 talks about them being thrown in the furnace, and Daniel 3:26 talks about them coming out unharmed—and it changed the King’s heart toward them.

The key to maintaining peace that passes all understanding is building a good, solid relationship with the Lord, spending time with Him in worship and in prayer.

Don’t let the devil scare you into thinking that you’ve been forgotten. Your Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit will never let you go.

It has always been Satan’s desire to divide and conquer. He can’t stand to see Christians strong in faith and full of love and forgiveness. Satan is the king of dysfunction. Look at what he’s done—the attacks on family units are a strong example of how he hates us. Then his attacks spread to the Church family—the strife and division is evident.

However, we can overcome and defeat the enemy. And we can do this by praying for our families, our leaders, the lost, and trusting and staying strong in what God has to say about every situation.

One of my favorite psalms is chapter 23:

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

With a very grateful heart, I thank God the Father for all of the provisions He has made.

Thanksgiving Day will be here soon, and I want to encourage you to love and embrace your family. Invite someone to join you who doesn’t have a family to share the holiday with. God bless you, and I pray you have a very blessed Thanksgiving!

In His love,

Donner Roberson
