Overcoming Evil

Dear Friend,

This year, I am looking forward to spending more time with our Lord. The year 2021 was very difficult for so many people. However, Jesus sustained us through the most difficult times. Amen. I think 2022 is going to be a very interesting year. I know we’re not quitting, not giving up, nor are we going to give the devil any credit for anything. Amen.

The temptation to get angry at people—especially in government positions—would be much easier if we didn’t have the Holy Spirit teaching us and being our Comforter: But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you (John 14:26). Therefore, the best thing we can all do is spend time praying, fellowshipping with the Lord in worship, staying in the Word, and not letting current events change our faith.

Romans 12:17-21 says:

Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.

If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.

Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

Amen. It’s so important for us to keep our most holy faith built up by praying in the Holy Ghost. I don’t believe that we can live by what the Apostle Paul is saying in Romans 12 without help from the Holy Spirit. God the Father and Jesus said that the Holy Spirit will help us, and He is. Praise the Lord! We serve a mighty, loving God who has done everything for us.

I am so grateful and thankful that I am born again. I love how Jesus says in John 14:27: Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

What a wonderful God we serve. Our Father will never turn His back on us. He loves us more than we can comprehend. He sent Jesus to us to show us the depth of His love. Amen. As we move into 2022, let’s yield to the Holy Spirit, letting Him teach us how to love the same way Jesus does. His love will change circumstances faster. Amen.

In His love,

Donner Roberson
