I’m Still Standing

Dear Friend,

I hope you’re as excited as I am about the New Year! It’s January 2019 and our God reigns. Amen. I know for many of us, 2018 had many trials, but I am happy to say we’re still standing and Jesus stood with us through it all. Hallelujah!

In Second Timothy 4:17,18, the Apostle Paul says:

Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

It’s plain to see that Satan hates us, and he wants to shut every Christian up who loves Jesus and stands for the truth.

I know there are times when we really have to fight discouragement, when the trials seem endless, however, the only hope Satan has is to wear us out. It’s a must to stay focused on the Word of God and praise Him for what He has already done.

Sometimes I recall all of the victories I’ve seen and I bring them up to myself so Satan knows I don’t believe his lies.

We can walk right into a year of victory. I’m trusting that our Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit will keep us from falling into any traps or snares. Psalm 1:1-6 is an excellent way for us to live in this new year:

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

When trouble comes our way, the best thing we can do is run to our Heavenly Father in Jesus’ Name. He loves us so very much. Jesus doesn’t like it when we’re hurt. Remember what Paul says in Second Corinthians 4:9: Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed—Satan is a liar!

We will always have battles, and Jesus will always be faithful to see us through them.

The Lord is gracious, quick to forgive, and He loves us more than His own life. He fought and won the battle for us, and as long as we trust Him and not look at the circumstances, we can and will remain standing!

May the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you. My hope for 2019 is a stronger stand on all we believe, which is all of the things Jesus did on the Cross for us.

In His love,

Donner Roberson
