Confidence in the Lord

Dear Friend,

More and more, I am understanding how important it is not to agree with the devil in anyway, even in the subtle ways Satan comes. I saw one definition of subtle ways being this—“making use of clever and indirect methods to achieve something.”

Even though Satan will attack our mind and try his best to get us to agree with what we see, I don’t think the Lord wants us to stick our head in the sand regarding our circumstances. It is okay to acknowledge what the problem is, but then the Lord expects us to keep confessing His solution.

Second Thessalonians 3:13 says: But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing. You see, the Lord is faithful, and even if no other person ever sees or hears of your stand, God does, and He is there to strengthen you.

Galations 6:9 says: And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. Satan attacks the hardest when you’re tired. He is attacking in full force with everything he has—with witchcraft, every perversion you can think of, plus the love of money. He attacks because he wants to destroy your relationship and confidence in God.

Here is one definition of confidence—“full trust, belief in the powers, trustworthiness, or reliability of a person or thing, having every confidence in their ability.” If we lose our confidence in God, Satan will move in with a force to destroy us. But if we put our full trust in Him, Jesus is greater than anything the devil has to offer. This is the year of power! And we cannot be double minded. Elijah said it very well in First Kings 18:21: How long halt ye between two opinions?

I know what a struggle adverse circumstances can be—we’ve all been there—but I believe God is raising up more giant slayers in the days coming. It will be amazing to be a part of what’s coming.

Sometimes you just need to encourage your faith by reading about all of the victories of the faithful men and women in Hebrews chapter 11—those who chose God above everything else. One of my favorites is Hebrews 11:24-26:

By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter;

Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;

Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.

This is a major key. Moses chose to turn his back on the world, and we have the same choice. It’s up to us whom we will serve. Our Father is merciful and He will help us. That’s why Jesus came to redeem us and why the Holy Spirit is here to teach us. The devil can’t make us serve or agree with him.

There were so many before us who stood and believed in the promises of God—Moses, Abraham, Joseph, Jacob, and Noah to name a few. If they could stand, so can we.

Hebrews 12:2 says: Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hallelujah! When I read the part that says, “Who for the joy set before Him endured the Cross,” I know that it can’t get any plainer how much Jesus loves us.

My prayer today is that Jesus can strengthen and encourage your heart, and that we are bold in believing and confident that we will walk in victory. Amen.

In His love,

Donner Roberson
