Trust God With Your Worries

Dear Friend,

Have you ever felt a little fear or found that you were anxious over different situations? When I started to feel that way recently, the Lord reminded me that He was in charge and He could handle whatever was going on in my life. His response made me laugh because it brought me back to the day when my kids found a little “National Worrywart” award and got it for me. That really is how much I used to worry, and I could find a lot of things to worry about!

Sometimes the enemy will still try to get me worried over something, but I’ve found that worry solves absolutely nothing. I have found that I love peace and the joy I feel knowing the Lord will take care of everything as long as I give Him what He needs to get things done. Trusting Him gets easier all of the time.

I remember years ago when I was very ill. I took to worshiping the Lord several hours a day. I felt so sick at times that I told the Lord as I was going to bed, “If I don’t wake up, I will see You soon.” Strangely enough, the fact that I knew that if I died, I’d go to Heaven gave me so much peace that the worry and fear couldn’t stay. The scripture in Second Corinthians 5:8 says: We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

The worry and fear I see people in is so sad, especially since so many of them are Christians. When I was struggling with worry, I began to pray a lot in tongues and worship a lot and I walked out of it just knowing the Lord was with me no matter what happened. Psalm 55:22 says: Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

The best thing a person can do is meditate on the good things, the blessings that we do have. I am delighted when I read things like Luke 12:32: Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

Doesn’t it excite you when you read about all the battles God has won? Listen to what Moses instructed Joshua in Deuteronomy 31:7,8:

And Moses called unto Joshua, and said unto him in the sight of all Israel, Be strong and of a good courage: for thou must go with this people unto the land which the Lord hath sworn unto their fathers to give them; and thou shalt cause them to inherit it.

And the Lord, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.

Our Father loves us! We have God the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. It doesn’t get any better than that. The Lord has and always will take care of us. Hallelujah!

In His love,
