What One Encounter With Jesus Can Do

Dear Friend,

Thank you for helping me pray for all of the Satanists, witches, warlocks, and lost and deceived people last month. It really blesses my heart to give Jesus an opportunity to touch their lives. Just one encounter with Jesus can dramatically change their lives—it sure did mine, amen.

Look how much one encounter with Jesus changed Saul—who later became known as the Apostle Paul—when he was persecuting Christians, killing them and sending many of them to prison. Acts 22:6-8 says:

And it came to pass, that, as I made my journey, and was come nigh unto Damascus about noon, suddenly there shone from heaven a great light round about me.

And I fell unto the ground, and heard a voice saying unto me, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

And I answered, Who art thou, Lord? And he said unto me, I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom thou persecutest.

Saul’s life was never the same after that. If Jesus can change the heart of a man who was set on destroying Christians, he can change the hearts of men and women everywhere. It’s very important that we do not lose sight of what God can do. Saul became an advocate for Jesus. Just look at all of the wonderful teachings we have by him as the Apostle Paul. Once he had his encounter with Jesus, he remained faithful until the end. You see, Jesus loves all people. He died for all of us.

One of the things I love about Paul was how he always gave God the glory and exposed Satan every chance he got. First Corinthians 2:1,2,4,5 says:

And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.

For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. . . .

And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:

That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

Then in verses 6-8, Paul exposes Satan’s biggest blooper—I love it:

Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:

But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:

Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

Satan outsmarted himself when he had Jesus crucified. Hallelujah!

Jesus made a way for us, and I pray we can reach millions of lost, hurting people for the Kingdom of God, amen. I love what Paul goes on to say in verse 9: But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. Jesus will receive anyone who accepts Him as Lord and Savior. How awesome is that? I am grateful and thankful that we serve a God who loves us.

I want to wish you all a very blessed and happy Thanksgiving holiday. On Thanksgiving Day, fifty years ago, I gave birth to my son. He is now a grandpa (I’m smiling). God bless you and your family this month.

In His love,
