Dear Friend,
I’ve had people ask me, “Why are we constantly in a battle?” The main reason is because Satan hates everyone—especially Christians. It’s because we’re made in the image of God. The devil hates us all the more as we pray more, because he knows that our prayers will help us love people more and witness to them about Jesus. You see, we live in a fallen world, but in this fallen world, we are the invaders. Amen.
King Saul, the first king of Israel in the Old Testament became tormented by devils, and every time he was under their influence and listened to them, he couldn’t make a good decision. Things got so bad that King Saul said in First Samuel 28:7-9:
Then said Saul unto his servants, Seek me a woman that hath a familiar spirit, that I may go to her, and enquire of her. And his servants said to him, Behold, there is a woman that hath a familiar spirit at Endor.
And Saul disguised himself, and put on other raiment, and he went, and two men with him, and they came to the woman by night: and he said, I pray thee, divine unto me by the familiar spirit, and bring me him up, whom I shall name unto thee.
And the woman said unto him, Behold, thou knowest what Saul hath done, how he hath cut off those that have familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land: wherefore then layest thou a snare for my life, to cause me to die?
Saul ended up asking the woman to summon the prophet Samuel from the dead, hoping that the prophet could help him. But by then, it was too late for Saul. Sadly, he lost everything because he had been listening to the wrong spirits.
David became king of Israel after Saul, and he too became influenced by a spirit—a spirit of murder and lust as a result of coveting Uriah’s wife, Bathsheba. Thankfully, the Lord sent the prophet Nathan to King David to correct him before it was too late.
In the New Testament, another man named Saul lived under the influence of a religious spirit. It wasn’t until he had an experience with Jesus on the Damascus Road that his life and name were changed forever. It was a radical transformation, and this Saul became the mighty Apostle Paul. Amen.
Our Father knows our heart, and He is merciful. He is merciful, kind, and long suffering with us. John 14:26 says: But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. We don’t have to be tormented and influenced by devils. Instead, we can choose to stay under the influence of our Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Their excellent influence will help us here on Earth until we go to be with Them for all eternity. Amen.
I love our Father more every day. He is so good!! He is worthy of all our praise. My heart is to see people free from the bondages of this world—that we all have eyes to see, ears to hear, and know that Jesus has set us free! Amen.
In His love,
