Pray for Our Leaders

Dear Friend,

I want to continue to encourage you to pray for our leaders. This pleases our Father. So many people are getting pulled into strife over our upcoming elections, yet First Timothy 2:1-4 says:

I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;

For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

Amen. I have noticed that the Apostle Paul didn’t say for us to just pray for people we like. He said to pray for “all men.” I think it would be far greater if those in authority who are promoting abortions and other ungodly things would repent and become truly born again. That would be a great testimony to our Lord. I choose to pray for their salvation instead of getting into strife and hatred. Amen.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve needed a great deal of mercy in my life, and the Lord gave it to me. We serve an awesome God. We serve a God who in spite of everyone’s shortcomings went and healed people all through the land, breaking long-established traditions that hurt so many people. Matthew 4:24 states how Jesus healed people who had diseases and were tormented, those who were possessed with devils, and those who were lunatic. I believe Jesus could do even more in our day if we would unite in prayer to heal our country. Amen. Jesus died for all, not just a select few. He wants all men to be saved. Praise God!

I’m praying according to Colossians 1:9: For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. Amen. I know it’s not always easy to stay out of strife, but we can do it through our Lord Jesus.

I’m asking you all to pray for our leaders, remembering what Hebrews 13:18 says: Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly. Amen.

In His love,

Donner Roberson
