Dear Friend,
So many wonderful things have been happening that I hardly know where to begin. I’ve been enjoying my family’s visit. My great-grandsons are awesome! Recently I got to dedicate the youngest, baby Jack, to the Lord. It’s so exciting to be able to see the generations coming together. My son Nick came too, and I loved watching the boys calling him “Grandpa” (I’m smiling). My granddaughter Jessica and her wonderful husband Sean will be shipping out to Japan on May 6th. Hopefully, I’ll get to go visit them over there. The Lord has been so gracious, and I’m so happy with what He is doing in my family.
I remember my own mom not wanting me to keep my son when I was pregnant with him. I was sixteen when I had Nick. Now I look at my granddaughter and her sons, SJ and little Jack, and think of all the blessings I would have missed had I listened to her. I know in some cases it’s better if the child is given up for adoption—as in my Levi’s case. Again, I’m so blessed to have Levi my life. God is so good!
God wants our families to be restored even though Satan has tried so hard to destroy the family unit. It’s not easy to see our children hurt or watch them follow the god of this world. However, prayers can and will change lives. Amen.
A mother’s heart for her children will fight for her children even when they are grown. They’re still her babies and it’s so hard to see them hurt.
God the Father feels the same way about us. He doesn’t like it when we’re hurt. If we are born again, we are His children.
Praying moms, grandmas, and great-grandmas have made a difference, so please do not quit praying for your family and living for the Lord. Just look at what Paul wrote to Timothy regarding this:
Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus,
To Timothy, my dearly beloved son: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.
I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day;
Greatly desiring to see thee, being mindful of thy tears, that I may be filled with joy;
When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.
2 Timothy 1:1-5
Mother’s Day is this month. All of you grandmothers, mothers, spiritual moms—you are making a difference. God wants to restore our families, and the best way to do that is to pray and let God do the rest. Second Timothy 1:7 says, For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Our Father is faithful, amen. This is where we have to let go and give our family to Him. He knows and loves our children more than we do.
I believe I have already received my Mother’s Day gift just by being with my family. My children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren have blessed me beyond measure. Now if that isn’t enough, Levi tells me several times a day that he loves me and has also added, “Mom, you’re the best mom in the whole world!!” Really, does it get any better than that? I don’t think so. My heart is blessed.
My heart and prayers are that all of our families are restored and filled with God’s love, peace, and joy. God bless all you amazing moms this Mother’s Day.
In His love,
Donner Roberson
