Excited for 2013!

Dear Friend,

I received a note from a sweet lady in Minnesota saying it would be nice to see a picture of my grandson, Levi. It’s hard to believe he turned one year old on January 4th, and it was just a year ago on January 11, 2012 that we flew together from Washington state to Oklahoma.

Levi is truly a miracle. My daughter—Levi’s mother—used the drug “meth” until her eighth month of pregnancy, and at one time, she planned to have an abortion. However, the person scheduled to perform the abortion didn’t show up (I’m smiling).

I flew out to be with my daughter prior to Levi’s birth. Levi James was born at 11:39 a.m. and weighed seven pounds. The doctors were amazed that he was so healthy, because as my daughter stated, all she did during her pregnancy was eat junk food and do drugs.

I had to do several things to prepare for Levi’s adoption, and the Lord was in all of it. I had to have a “home study” visit, which I passed. I also had to retain lawyers in both states—Washington and Oklahoma. In total, I had four lawyers working on the process. However, the Lord connected me with the right people, so I was able to get all of it done in a short amount of time. Praise the Lord!

I call many of the young people at the church I attend, “my kids.” They helped me move my office and set up a nursery for Levi. They also helped with the finances. I am so blessed and amazed at how wonderful they all are. Levi has been called “the boy with a thousand uncles,” and he also has an awesome spiritual papa. He is a very happy baby, and he is extremely sociable. I thank God every day for giving me this baby boy. He is a blessing and I can’t picture life without him. I will raise him according to Proverbs 22:6, which says: Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Isaiah 54:13 also says: And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy children.

I’ve had people say to me, “I’m glad it’s you taking the baby and not me.” So am I! I am so glad it’s me. The Lord has given me this beautiful little gift who will someday grow up to be a mighty man of God. Hallelujah! The Lord rescued Levi, and

I am so grateful. I take Matthew 18:10 to heart: Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.

Praise the Lord. I can’t begin to tell you what an amazing, exciting year 2012 was, and I look forward to many more to come. I am grateful that my daughter had enough love to give Levi to me, and now she is pursuing the help she needs, praise God.

Levi is blessed, and he is doing well. He started walking at 9 months old. He has eight teeth, and he is very active. He also loves our dogs and to watch the children’s series, Veggie Tales. He loves to play with my great-grandson, Sean Jr., who was born in November of 2011—they are six weeks apart. Sean is known as SJ and lives in Missouri. I love watching the boys play when they have a chance to be together.

My heart and prayers go out to every grandparent who is raising grandchildren. I think you bless and touch the Lord’s heart when you step up to the plate. Amen.

Because of the many changes that have taken place over the past year, I’m not traveling as much for ministry; however, I’m able to minister quite a bit from here. I look forward to sharing more about the new opportunities opening up to preach God’s Word and touch those who are lost and hurting.

I am excited about what the Lord has in store for the future. God bless you in this new year!

In His love,

Donner Roberson
