Matters of the Heart

Dear Friend,

Have you ever wondered in amazement how the Lord managed to get things in your life turned around?

We as humans sometimes have a hard time getting off of the “emotional roller coaster,” but God still manages to get through to us. His love, mercy, and grace are with us working on our behalf as long as we’re trying to follow Him. Amen.

I know a young lady who came out of extreme poverty, and to look at things in the natural, she wouldn’t have been able to accomplish much in the way of education. She’s very bright and had given her heart to the Lord, and during her time of prayer and worshiping Him, she started seeing how much He had done for her. She says openly that the Lord blessed her with the ability to make straight A’s, and she became salutatorian when she graduated from high school. She went on to get her master’s degree, giving God all of the glory.

Now this young lady blesses countless people knowing that people are God’s greatest commodity, and she is even at times able to help change how they feel about Him.

I love the way she just says, “I’m blessed. The Lord is good to me.” I know she’s had her share of heartache, but it has never changed her love for Jesus. Amen.

She brings to my mind Second Corinthians 9:7,8:

Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:

Glory to God! I’ve known this young lady for a long time and I’ve never known her to give in order to get things back. She has always said she wouldn’t have anything to give if it wasn’t for the Lord, and she’s not just talking about money, but her time, her home, whatever the Lord leads her to do.

I know of several people who bless people with an encouraging word, prayer, food, whatever they can do. The Lord sees all of it and He loves it. It’s what’s in our heart that counts. He knows what’s in our heart, and I’m forever grateful that His tender mercies are there for us.

Everything we do should be done as unto the Lord. We should all be able to let Jesus shine through us in one way or another. I think the greatest testimony is the life we live for God.

In my life, I am blessed beyond measure with good friends and family. However, the greatest Friend is Jesus. Amen.

The Apostle John stated it very well when he said about Jesus: He must increase, but I must decrease (John 3:30). I think giving God all of the glory for the things He has given us the ability to do, to stay humble, to forgive and love like He does is so very important. Amen.

Examine me, O Lord, and prove me; try my reins and my heart.

For thy lovingkindness is before mine eyes: and I have walked in

thy truth.

Psalm 26:2,3

Praise You, Jesus.

In His love,
