Dear Friend,
Last month, I had the pleasure of getting to visit with my sister Margaret, her daughter, and son. I haven’t seen her in ten years although we talk on the phone several times a month. We’re both in our seventies now, so we wanted to get together while we can. She’s the oldest of my siblings, but physically, she’s the smallest. I call her my “little big sister” (I’m laughing).
Levi fell in love with Margaret and her daughter. It was the first time they had seen each other in person.
Family is so important, and as fast as the time slips by, we often forget how important it is.
I’ve been thinking a lot about family. I think about my church family too. I don’t want to neglect anyone. I want to be there for them in prayer and in any way I can help. I have been blessed beyond measure with good people in my life. I think of what it takes to keep a family strong and what keeps the enemy from destroying it.
This is what the Apostle Paul says in Colossians 3:12-16:
Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
I’m very grateful the Lord made a way for me to see my sister. I am so blessed. Thank You, Lord.
I have so many things to be grateful for. When I got back home, my friend and sister in the Lord from West Memphis came to see me. She is so full of the love of God. She was sharing some of her testimonies, amazing reports, and giving God all of the glory. Hallelujah! Her life is a testimony. Amen.
Whenever I’m discouraged, I try to think on all of the good, wonderful things my Lord has done for me simply because He loves me.
It’s the same for you. He loves you and wants you to succeed.
This month we’re celebrating the Fourth of July. Freedom is so precious. We must not abuse it. God gave us freedom to choose, and I pray we all make good, sound decisions patterning ourselves after Jesus who walked in love and forgiveness—But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him (First Corinthians 2:9). Amen.
Let’s pray for our families, our church, and our country.
In His love,
Donner Roberson
